The function
As a Data Solution Engineer, you will be part of a project team at one of our customers. You will be part of a scrum team that is busy implementing new functionality and improving the data platform, supporting data modelers and performing releases on a daily basis. The focus here is mainly on the backend and the tooling that modelers need. Often with cloud technology in Azure or AWS. Think for example of Azure Fabric.
As a specialist in model-driven data engineering, we develop various open-source tools that are used by our customers. As an employee of CrossBreeze, you can contribute to the development of these tools.
Your profile
- You have experience working on data solutions, for example in a Data Warehouse environment;
- You are interested in model-driven and automated software development. You are not tied to a specific technology and enjoy mastering new material;
- You like to do things in a smart way, by automating tasks or implementing a generic solution;
- You are able to be hands-on with development, but also to act as a sparring partner in the field of architecture and development concepts;
- In your work you keep an eye on a good balance between the technically ideal solution and the interests of the customer;
- You have sufficient substantive and communication skills to work independently or as part of a team for our clients as a professional.
Requirements
- At least a completed HBO or WO IT education;
- At least 2 years of experience as a data engineer in data warehouse projects or as a software engineer on projects with a substantial data component;
- Familiar with modeling methods, e.g. UML, Inmon, Kimball or Datavault;
- Experience with programming, for example in Python, Java or C#;
- Good knowledge of SQL on at least one database platform;
- Good communication skills.
Preferably
- Experience with modeling data models;
- Experience in using CI/CD and unit testing to deliver the solution in an automated and tested manner;
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts such as time travel;
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum team;
